So, has anyone here tried sushi? If so, do you like it? Only people who have tried it though! If you haven't tried it, you can't knock it.
Yes, I have eaten Sushi a couple of times. If your trying it for the first time, I'd recommend sticking with something simple, like a california roll. Also, watch the wasabi. Personally, I can eat Sushi, but the wasabi is a whole different story. Although, this may be caused by one of the first times I ate sushi. I mistakenly took a whole spoonful of wasabi! Talk about a mouth full of fire! Still, I really don't care for the flavor of wasabi, but most kinds of sushi I can handle. The texture is a little different, but the taste isn't bad! Also, if your trying it for the first time, go to a restaurant that serves other things thaty you know you will like and has a sushi bar. This way you can try a little before your other meal and you won't go away hungry! Even though I know I like sushi, I usually try and do this as sushi really doesn't fill you up that much and can be quite expensive.
mmmm, sushi! I love it with just a hint of soy sauce and with caviar.
hate it
I love sushi! I live here in Hawaii where there is quite the Variety of sushi bars. My fav is when they have the Ala-carte style where everything is a little convayer belt and you simply grab it off and remove the cover and eat, yummy while you are eating you get to watch all the other items cruise by.
Mmm, I love sushi. The first time I had it was in San Francisco; we were there for a radio conference a few years ago. I had no idea what I was getting into, but figured I'd be adventurous. I love eel, tuna, and yellowtail with some soy sauce and lots of ginger... Mmm. Not a fan of the wasabi, though.:)
Yeah! spicy tuna and salmon. The eel is good as well. Yes to soy sauce and ginger but I pass on the woosabee, I do love hot things but I find that it covers the taste of the sushi too much.
I love sushi, any kind is really great and while I agree with guitargod that wasabi tends to hide the taste of the fish too much, it can be a godsend when eating mediocre (or worse) sushi...For those that haven't tried it, its well worth a try and there are a number of options to work slowly into it that aren't raw.
